Personnel with the qualifications, technical knowledge, experience, and skills required to efficiently provide grounds maintenance and landscaping services. All personnel must be fluent in English, (Read, Write, and Speck).
Responsibilities
- Major Job Activities:
- Daily duties entail extensive mowing, trimming, and edging around buildings walkways and fences. Prunes or trims shrubs, spreads fertilizer, and removes clippings.
- Job assignments will involve the conduct of work in out-of-doors areas with exposure to extreme climatic conditions.
- Work will require lifting up to 50 lbs.; stooping; climbing; prolonged standing; prolonged sitting; and work in areas where a potential exists for exposure to physical, chemical, and biological agents.
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) use is required when applicable.
- Equipment includes but is not limited to head; hand; foot; torso; respiratory; vision, and hearing protection.
- Ensures grounds maintenance tools/equipment are maintained fully operational.
- Responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, healthy, presentable, professional atmosphere, free of clutter and trash in all working facilities and areas.
- Responsible for proper utilization and safeguarding of all provided property (e.g., facilities, equipment, and tools).
- Must obtain required licenses for the various equipment assigned to the section.
- Actively works towards meeting contractual requirements and adhering to the monthly Grounds Cut Sheet schedule.
- Responds to service orders as directed and assigned.
- Works in a professional and efficient matter with minimum downtime.
- Must be able to withstand prolonged periods of time working outdoors during varying heat conditions.
- Responsible for the upkeep of assigned PPE, tools, equipment, vehicles etc. and is liable to turn in for scheduled maintenance or when identified faulty.
- Responsible for updating work orders using either a tablet, computer and/or handwritten on paper workorder.
- Updates included changing the work order status, inputting a log, requesting material and time performance.
- Performs general housekeeping when working on site.
- May be required to work weekends, holidays, early and late shifts.
- Overtime may be required.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as required.
- Receives direction from the Grounds Maintenance Lead
Qualifications
- Education / Certifications: One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education if degree is required.
- Must possess a valid home country driver’s license and be capable of obtaining a USG driver’s license
- Must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent
- Experience:
- Must possess a minimum of two (2) years of experience in roads and grounds maintenance
- Must possess a minimum of two (2) years of experience in operating and maintaining grounds equipment
- Skills & Technology Used:
- Ability to understand lawn maintenance techniques, equipment operation, and road surface repair.
- Knowledge and ability in using computer applications.
- Ability to speak, write and read and understand fluent English.
- Ability to interpret maps
- Working Environment:
- Tropical, seasonally hot, humid, with maritime influence and semi-continental features.
- Rainy period runs from May to October.
- It is characterized by the influence of the North Atlantic Anticyclone; Dry season extends from November to April
- Material & Equipment Directly Used:
- Push lawnmowers, Zero Turn Mowers, Tractors, Weed Eaters, Chainsaws, Trimmers and Hedge Clippers,
- Pick-up Trucks with Trailers, Shovels, Hand Rakes, Blowers, Brooms, and Basic Hand Tools etc.
