Position Summary:

JOB SUMMARY:

Position will assist the Clinical Excellence Department Director with professional nursing practice, clinical recognition, and professional development. Assists with all aspects of professional governance. Committee work will include nursing recognition, professional nurse advancement programing, as well as nursing annual reporting committees. Professional Development activities include coordination of back-to-school support, certification, and other development opportunities. Infusing the Carle Health System nursing with professionalism and supporting the Professional Practice Model.

Qualifications:

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS
Registered Professional Nurse (RN) License Illinois upon hire and National Nursing Certification NPD preferred within 2 years.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Five (5) Years of Nursing Experience. Strong understanding of Nursing Professional Standards. 

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of professional governance. Strong understanding of nursing professional standards. Strong interprofessional skills. Strong presentation skills.

Essential Functions:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Initiate, support, and monitor professional governance across the organization.
  • Assist with nurse recognition programs.
  • Assist with Carle RNs returning to school.
  • Assist with nursing professional development related to advancement and professional certification.
  • Communication across internal departments to facilitate professionalism in nursing.
  • Professional Development and In-Service Training.
  • Generates quarterly reports to meet regulatory and compliance requirements.
  • Coordinates communication with chairs and committee leads for Professional Nurse Advancement Program and other recognition programing.
  • Supports programming for Advanced Practice Providers including onboarding, mentoring, and student placement
  • Provides leadership to the other team members of Clinical Excellence including Student Clinical Coordinators and Nurse Practice Specialists.
  • Maintains appropriate practice resources for clinical team members and leaders.
  • Acts as a liaison for the department between other corporate services, team members, and facilities.
  • Creates the Nursing Annual Report
  • Initiates, supports and monitors a clinical team member Mentor Program
  • Plans activities, recognition and celebration for Nurses Week each year
  • Acts as an administrator for AcuityPlus
  • Facilitates, edits, and monitors the Nursing Website and blog.
  • Supports new clinical team member onboarding.
  • Actively involved in activities to support nursing engagement
  • Builds and maintains relationships with regional nursing programming to support academic advancement
  • Owns identifying appropriate projects for MSN and DNP students based on Carle needs and works with MSN and DNP students to connect to these project
