Job Description
A part-time research assistant is needed to support the preparation, execution, and maintenance of a study on the neurophysiological correlates (EEG/electroencephalogram and eye movements) of learning difficulties in children. Preparation involves preparing study materials, computer tasks, surveys, and research reports. Execution involves scheduling, collecting data, interacting with study participants, and working with research staff. Maintenance involves tracking the progress of the study and lab management.
Qualifications
  • BA or BS preferred.
  • Experience working with children with learning difficulties.
  • Ability to use required laboratory equipment (EEG and eye tracker) or become qualified to use such equipment.
Job Specific Qualifications
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment.
  • Basic research knowledge preferred.
Responsibilities
  • Collect data work with child and adult participants in-person, administer standardized academic and cognitive tests, apply EEG/electroencephalography and eye tracking, distribute questionnaires.
  • Recruit and schedule participants, track, follow-up and reschedule as needed, answer questions.
  • Lab management (create protocols, schedules, prepare study materials, file study materials, prepare equipment, manage data).
  • Support the preparation of research reports, IRB, grant materials, presentations, and publications.
  • Other duties as assigned.
