Amherst. Stellar Technology. Mechanical Inspector. $23 - $24/hour. Perform mechanical and CMM in-process and final inspection of machined components to confirm all operations have been completed per customer requirements Job Responsibilities: * Perform and train on dimensional inspection of machined parts and assemblies using precision measuring instruments and devices. * Program and maintain programs for the Keyence IM machine. * Complete Final Inspection Forms * Complete appropriate documentation to record the measurement results of products and ensure compliance with work order requirements. * Use and maintain various inspection fixtures, gages, and measuring devices to ensure that accurate measurements are completed. * Assist in the maintenance and calibration of inspection equipment to ensure accurate readings. * Actively participate in LEAN projects and activities and other continuous improvement activities. * Review quality documentation to ensure accuracy and collaborate with Engineering for necessary corrections. * Work closely with Manufacturing and Engineering teams to investigate and correct various quality issues related to internal non-conformances, supplier issues, customer complaints and corrective action requests. * Coordinate and perform containment activities of nonconforming items. * Participate in third-party and internal audits as a Quality representative for the machine shop. * Perform process audits. * Adhere to all safety guidelines and procedures. * Other assignments as required. Competencies Required: * Ability to use and read micrometers, calipers, optical measurement systems, CMMs and other measuring equipment. * Ability to read blueprints and working knowledge of GD&T. * Understands and demonstrates comprehension of drawings, blueprints and Manufacturing Work Instructions. * Must be detail-oriented to keep accurate records and files. * Basic CMM programming abilities is preferred. * Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical problems with limited information. * Able to communicate effectively with management, machinists, and co-workers to promote strong working relationships and create an environment focused on teamwork. * Flexible with work and job assignments and willing to perform any function as needed. * Must be dependable and available to work overtime when required. * Proficient with Microsoft Office including Outlook, SAP, and able to learn new software programs. * Self-motivated and able to work effectively and efficiently with limited supervision. Physical Requirements: The daily physical requirements for this position are broken down as follows: CONTINUOUS (75-100% of shift): Sitting, standing, and remaining awake and alert at all times. FREQUENT (25-75% of shift): Walking, bending, and climbing stairs. OCCASIONAL (1-25% of shift): Stooping, twisting, squatting, and reaching above shoulders.
