Job Description

 
JOB REQUIREMENTS: Duties Major duties and responsibilities include but
are not limited to: Setting staff goals and interviews and makes
recommendations for the selection of team leaders and employees
Attending assigned SSA meetings and presents information to the staff
regarding SSA policies and procedures, VCL changes, and other technical
and administrative information as needed Developing performance
standards, conducting performance evaluations, assigning performance
ratings, approving awards and takes performance-based corrective actions
Identifying development and training needs for the staff and/or
individuals and ensuring that training is obtained, scheduled, and
approved Planning, organizing, and directing a unit of SSAs engaged in
connecting law enforcement with Veterans and Active Duty Servicemembers
at risk of suicide and/or homicide Providing an environment that
promotes accountability, staff development, team building, and effective
partnering, communications, and relationships with other teams and
organizations Ensuring proper labor relations and conditions of
employment are maintained Conducting and directing the review and
evaluation of time and attendance reports, staffing allocations,
equipment allocation reports, and operational reports Securing
information (technical, logistical and/or administrative) for major work
problems and issues that arise Administering, coordinating, and
overseeing the VCL 24-hour on-call system and providing backup
consultation to staff in emergency/crisis situations Assessing and
determining which intake and ongoing referrals are assigned to the
appropriate staff and makes determination on when to forward cases to
SSSS for clinical follow up Developing special reference and training
materials to meet staff training needs; training staff in areas such as
appropriate documentation, customer service skills, using technology to
locate individuals, records review, and working with law enforcement
Overseeing VCL SSA operations and management on the floor Reviewing
cases and service plans to assure standards and appropriateness of plans
Initiating and overseeing data collections to support the VCL\'s effort
to promote evidence-based practice Attending VCL call-center leadership
meetings and representing the Social Services program during those
meetings Forwarding all clinical concerns to the SSSS for review and
action Ensuring individual training requirements for all assigned staff
