Overview | Reporting directly to the dean of the School of Business, the primary responsibility of this position is to provide administrative support for the deans, department chairs and area coordinators in the School of Business and interacts closely with the students, and the full-time and part-time members of the faculty. |
Job Responsibilities |
Other Duties as Assigned – responsible for additional tasks as assigned by the dean. |
Education / Experience | Minimum related AAS degree; preferred Bachelor’s degree, or significant experience required. Office experience in higher education highly desirable. |
Competencies / Skills | This position requires excellent organizational, interpersonal, communication and critical thinking skills. The administrative assistant is the initial interface with students and faculty in the School of Business. The administrative assistant must have the ability to accomplish things in a busy environment where work can be disrupted, and, in addition, be able to use judgment to determine what issues must rise to the dean’s level and work respecting the confidentiality in the dean’s office. The assistant should be able to work independently and have the skills to effectively use existing technology and the willingness to learn new applications appropriate to School of Business operations. Project management skills are a plus. |
