    We are seeking a Patient Account Representative to join our healthcare team in San Mateo, California. In this role, you will be responsible for handling patient-related tasks, maintaining accurate patient records, and ensuring smooth patient and workflow within the department.


    Responsibilities:


    • Manage patient flow including pre-visit preparation, assisting with the patient visit, and post-visit duties.

    • Execute a plan to meet the needs for registration, scheduling, billing/claims inequities, and general questions.

    • Assist in resolving issues and improving the quality of care, ensuring necessary authorizations are obtained prior to patient visits.

    • Update patient demographics and troubleshoot any billing problems that may arise.

    • Prepare patients for appropriate exams/procedures by reviewing Electronic Health Record (EHR) for health maintenance, disease management, overdue or due-soon services, and pend orders, when appropriate.

    • Assist the Clinician with EHR In-Basket management for prescription refills results, authorizations/referrals and non-clinical secure e-messages.

    • Manage rooming and patient flow, ensuring that exam rooms are clean, stocked and appropriately set up each day prior to rooming patients.

    • Provide informational pamphlets and after care instructions to patients, and/or after visit summary as instructed by the Clinician.

    • Receive and record lab/radiological test results via telephone or computer and ensure that those results and related reports are with the patient’s medical record at the time of the patient’s visit.

    • Relay Clinician instructions/orders to pharmacy (refills only without changes), patients and other entities via computer, phone, fax or email.

    • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role within the healthcare or NHS industry.

    • Must have be a Certified MA

    • Proficiency in using CRM and EHR systems.

    • Experience with McKesson is highly desirable.

    • Strong skills in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suites.

    • Familiarity with Benefit Functions and Billing Functions.

    • Experience in handling Cash Activity and Claim Administration.

    • Proficiency in Complaint Handling.

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

    • Must possess strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

    • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.

    • Familiarity with healthcare terms and procedures is preferred.

    • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

    • Must have a proactive approach and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
