We are looking for a Raw Materials Developer to join our Materials team at Jockey. The Raw Materials Developer will be responsible for the research, development, approval, and marketing of Materials & Color. Ensures that materials, for all categories, are developed to meet our performance requirements, meet go-to-market requirements & timing, achieve cost, margin, and original design intent.

JOB EXPECTATIONS

  • Initiate, monitor, and ensure valid cost/performance of raw material development through collaboration with design/product development/sourcing/Hong Kong materials teams, external mills/factories, while adhering to sustainable material criteria and demonstrating a thorough understanding of the process.
  • Lead Material Development efforts across key categories, actively presenting new and innovative material and technology platforms. Advocate for sustainability, innovation, and creativity, while setting an example for proactive product development and consumer centric material solutions.
  • Oversee seasonal material library organization, including content from core suppliers and current materials. Maintain seasonal development reference binders with complete fabric information for internal reference and meeting preparation.
  • Facilitate timely testing of raw materials via third-party labs, working with the Materials team to certify that all material quality requirements are met.
  • Coordinate the availability of materials and track all material sample requests for development and meetings.
  • Drive PLM material data integrity, overseeing the accuracy of material specs, test reports, supplier data, and color execution.
  • Attend and actively participate in select fabric appointments, attend presentations, and concept meetings.
  • Assist with material lab dip approval process, including reviewing and commenting on submits, professionally communicating with mills/factories, maintaining up-to-date status in PLM. Organize color standards and color submits in color lab.
  • Support sustainability initiatives through research and knowledge sharing, staying informed about industry trends and best practices.
  • Research material trends and new innovations to identify business opportunities and needs.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Textiles, Apparel, or related field preferred.
  • 1-3 years' experience 
  • Takes initiative and can collaborate and communicate effectively.
  • Drives performance.

Preferred:

  • PLM knowledge a plus.
  • 2-4 years' experience
