Senior Conveyor System Design Engineer

Innovate and Design Cutting-Edge Warehouse Automation Solutions

Join a collaborative cross-functional team dedicated to designing and delivering innovative material handling solutions. We are seeking a highly skilled engineer with deep expertise in conveyor system design and estimating to support our pre-sales engineering process. In this role, you will leverage your knowledge of conveyor fundamentals to create efficient, cost-effective solutions tailored to our customers’ automation challenges.

You will work closely with sales teams and customers to define project requirements and develop mechanical designs for both new conveyor systems and modifications to existing infrastructure. Throughout the pre-sales process, you will lead cross-functional teams in cost estimating, proposal development, and securing leadership approvals.

This position reports to the Sr. Manager and is based on a hybrid work model (after 90 days) at one of the following locations: Mason, OH (preferred); Charlotte, NC; Atlanta, GA; St. Louis, MO; Morris Plains, NJ. Relocation assistance is available per company policy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Translate customer requirements into detailed, actionable design specifications.
  • Develop system designs using Honeywell standard products and third-party solutions.
  • Optimize designs to balance performance, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness within budget constraints.
  • Provide accurate cost and schedule estimates aligned with historical company performance.
  • Prepare technically sound and customer-friendly proposals.
  • Support the Sales team in customer meetings throughout the proposal cycle.
  • Lead engineering efforts to refine and enhance conveyor system design best practices.

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics.
  • 8+ years of mechanical design experience.
  • 4+ years of experience specifically in parcel conveyor system design.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD for system layout and mechanical design.

  • Strong proficiency in PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) systems.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex concepts effectively.
  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong analytical and project management skills to drive efficient design processes.
