Job Description:
Responsible for the total care of residents and the accuracy of the nursing care records; establishing and implementing procedures for the provision of care, development of policy and procedure manuals and development; planning and conducting orientation programs for new personnel, volunteers and temporary staff, and continuing in-service education for staff; determines appropriate staffing levels with the administrator, participates in the recruitment, selection and termination of staff, assigning, supervising, and evaluating performance of staff, delegating and monitoring non-nursing responsibilities to others consistent with their training, experience, competence and legal authorization, and with nursing home policy; participating in the selection of prospective residents based on care needed and staff competencies available; assuring that a comprehensive plan of care is established and implemented for each resident and that the plan is reviewed at least quarterly and within 7 days of the revision of the comprehensive resident assessment; coordinating nursing services for the residents with other care services provided both within and outside the nursing home; participating in planning, decision making, and budgeting, interacting with physicians to plan care for residents; and assuring that discharge and transfer planning for residents is conducted. Leads and promotes QAPI (Quality Assurance Performance Improvement)in the nursing home setting and ensures staff participate in QAPI efforts, receive training, support QAPI efforts. Work Experience: Minimum 5 years' RN experience with proven leadership experience. Knowledge of LTC regulations and clinical standards.

Education Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Nursing preferred.


Licensure/Certification Qualifications:

Nursing license in appropriate state of employment.

Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required or ability to obtain within 1 month.
