About the Job
This position assists in the recruitment of patients for and coordination of research programs and projects for faculty from the Otolaryngology Department at the University of Minnesota. This position will be performed primarily onsite at the MHealth Clinics and Surgery Center and the Phillips Wangensteen Building on the University of Minnesota campus. Below is a breakdown of this position's major responsibilities, other duties may be assigned as needed. Job Responsibilities: Study Participant Recruitment and Management - 75% of time Support participant recruitment efforts. Assist in the screening, consent, and enrollment of appropriate participants with regards to established protocols with oversight of CRCs and Research Manager. Coordinate participant study visits with guidance from clinical research staff. Schedule appropriate clinic appointments, procedures, testing, labs, and imaging studies per study protocol requirements. Prepare lab kits and study devices/ technology as delegated by Senior Coordinators and Research manager. Ensure appropriate billing designation for study visits by maintaining compliance in OnCore and EPIC systems. Manage study data with guidance from clinical research staff and sponsor representatives. Collect appropriate study data directly from participants and from electronic medical records (i.e. assess adverse events and protocol deviations, administer questionnaires, prescreen for eligibility, etc.). Enter data into required platforms and address queries as needed. Create and maintain subject binders with appropriate study CRFs and source documents. Coordinate monitor visits by sponsors and audits by Human Research Protection Program under guidance of clinical research staff (HRPP). Refer complex questions to senior members of the team (i.e., RP2,3 and/or Research Managers). Regulatory Support - 15% of time Support investigators and clinical research staff in preparing and completing various regulatory and Institutional Review Board (IRB) applications in coordination with sponsoring companies. Assist in maintenance of study regulatory binders. Research Assistant to Faculty and Staff - 10% of time Miscellaneous administrative duties and assignments as requested.
Qualifications
All required qualifications must be documented on application materials Required Qualifications: BA/BS or combination of related education and work experience to equal 4 years. Experience working with healthcare data or in a healthcare environment. Knowledge of research methodology. Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent communication skills, verbal and written. Excellent interpersonal skills. Demonstrated organizational and prioritization skills. Preferred Qualifications: Previous University of Minnesota research experience. Previous experience coordinating clinical research.
