    We are seeking a short term assignment, reliable and detail-oriented Mailroom Clerk to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the receipt, sorting, and distribution of incoming and outgoing mail and packages. This position plays a key role in ensuring smooth mailroom operations and providing excellent support to internal teams.

     

    Key Responsibilities

    • Receive, sort, and distribute incoming mail and packages to the appropriate departments or individuals.
    • Prepare outgoing mail and packages, including labeling, postage, and delivery scheduling.
    • Operate mailroom equipment such as postage meters, copiers, and scanning machines.
    • Maintain accurate records of shipments, receipts, and delivery schedules.
    • Process interoffice mail and ensure timely routing within the organization.
    • Coordinate with shipping carriers (e.g., FedEx, UPS, USPS) for pickups and deliveries.
    • Work closely with employees and departments to ensure proper handling of confidential materials.
    • Keep the mailroom organized and well-stocked with necessary supplies (e.g., envelopes, packing materials, stamps).
    • Assist with other clerical or administrative duties, as needed.


    Qualifications

    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Previous experience in a mailroom or similar environment is preferred but not required.
    • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
    • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
    • Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
    • Excellent communication skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude.
    • Ability to lift and carry packages up to [Insert weight limit, e.g., 30 lbs].
