The Digital Innovation Group (DIG) at Providence is a small but mighty web development and marketing team. We build next-gen tools that give patients convenient and easy access to health care anywhere, anytime.
The position is responsible for the design and analysis of web-based systems, including the development, support and optimization of solutions using SQL, C#, ASP.NET and Sitecore CMS. The ideal candidate will have a solid technical background with successful implementations of web technologies that have driven business objectives on complex projects from start to finish.
You'll be at the forefront of the entire project lifecycle, from conceptualization to deployment and ongoing maintenance. You'll lead software development projects, turning innovative ideas into fully realized solutions. Your role extends beyond coding; you'll be responsible for understanding the underlying architecture and designing system elements like classes, components, and modules to meet functional requirements.
Your expertise will not only be applied to writing technical specifications but also to mentoring the development team and enforcing best coding practices. You'll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and contribute to change control policies, software builds, deployment strategies, and code reviews. Your knack for integrating core 3rd-party applications with custom solutions will be invaluable, as will your ability to analyze and troubleshoot production defects to implement root-cause resolutions.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science & Engineering, Computer Science or Electrical and Computer Engineering; or related field or equivalent educ/experience
4 years directly relevant experience
7 years experience in designing and developing web based software solutions using Microsoft technologies and/or other cutting-edge web technologies
7 years designing with SQL Server or equivalent relational database or No-SQL data stores
7 years exposure to current Web standards, expert knowledge of HTML/XHTML and CSS, and grasp of core JavaScript libraries and languages
7 years experience as a part of a highly functional software development teams building world class products. Demonstrated the ability to build out large systems with multiple services, data stores, message queueing technologies, caching and data processing. Have a solid grounding in compute and data storage technologies that dominate the landscape now
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's Degree in Computer Science & Engineering, Computer Science or Electrical and Computer Engineering; or related field or equivalent educ/experience
4 years directly relevant experience
Ph.D. in Computer Science & Engineering, Computer Science or Electrical and Computer Engineering; or related field or equivalent educ/experience
4 years directly relevant experience
7 years experience in full cycle software development, including analysis, design, development, testing and implementation.
