The pay range for this position is between $120,000.00 – $240,000.00.
Starting wage may vary based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, the position being offered, location, education, training, and/or experience. Position Purpose:
One Finance is a multilayer, multiyear enterprise initiative to Simplify The Home Depot’s Financial Systems landscape, Transform Finance Function and Support the success of One Home Depot vision. Delivering on One Finance objectives are critical and foundational for achieving the Interconnected Retail experience through execution of Enterprise Priorities and Commons (EPiCs).
The Home Depot’s Finance Systems landscape, consisting of heavily customized applications on disparate platforms and databases, is complex and outdated. The current version of the core Finance System, SAP ECC, will go out of support and will be migrated to SAP S/4HANA on the Google Cloud Platform. Additionally, the business transformation mandate requires end-to-end process streamlining and standardization, simplifying the Finance function, supporting enhanced analytics and enabling highly flexible reporting through “One Ledger” architecture.
In order to deliver these mission critical objectives, One Finance is structured as a fully dedicated Program Office within the Finance division, with the following functions:
- Program and Change Management
- Overall responsibility to continually refine, measure and deliver planned business value
- Program Governance to manage scope, budget, risks, and ensure quality and value realization
- Proactively manage change across all areas and levels to ensure change readiness and process / technology adoption
- Business Process Applications
- Overall responsibility to
- Influence and drive end-to-end process streamlining and standardization based on industry leading best practices
- Build consensus and drive decision-making by engaging the appropriate Business and IT stakeholders, at the right time and in the right forum(s)
- Deliver application / system functionalities that are configured to support process simplification and provide better data insights
- Manage and deliver planned business value for the assigned functional area(s) within the four work streams (discussed below).
- Act as Business Process Subject Matter Experts (SME) in assigned functional area(s) within Record-to-Report, Procure-to-Pay, Order-to-Cash and Finance Technology work streams.
- Liaise effectively with –
- EPiC program stakeholders in managing up-stream scope / milestone inter-dependencies
- Finance / Accounting stakeholders in driving design and scope decisions
- IT stakeholders in configuring / developing technical solutions that satisfy business requirements
- Finance Integration and IT stakeholders on testing strategies
- Internal Audit and Finance Integration stakeholders on identifying and mitigating Security and Controls risks
- Serve the role of ‘Product Manager’ as needed: groom stories, prioritize backlog, lead agile ceremonies

- Record to Report (RTR): Master Data Design, Management and Governance, One Ledger Architecture; Cost Accounting; Financial Accounting; External Financial and Managerial Reporting; Acquire-to-Retire; Project Accounting; and Financial Planning and Forecasting
- Procure to Pay (PTP): Purchase and Inventory Accounting – Tracking, valuation and recordation of inventory movements from vendors through Supply Chain; Merchandise and Non-Merchandise Procurement, Payables and Payments (scope includes migrating Ariba and Concur T&E to cloud); and operational / managerial reporting
- Order to Cash (OTC): Sales Revenue Accounting; Accounts Receivable and Credit Collections; and operational / managerial reporting
- Finance Technology (FINT): Design, develop and deliver loosely-coupled Common Services / API’s for enterprise systems to consume.
The Senior Manager position supports Record to Report function of One Finance. In this role, the Senior Manager would oversee Record to Report initiatives relating to the One Finance transformation. The Senior Manager would ensure delivery of planned outcomes related to Accounting and External Reporting in the One Finance Roadmap as well as ‘connect the dots’ with other One Finance workstreams.
The Senior Manager will have direct reports, and they will manage any matrixed resources assigned from Business, Finance, Accounting and IT stakeholders as well as third party Systems Integrators and consultants.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Analysis/Problem Solving – Works to fully understand business; identify and implement process and organizational improvements. Plans and ensures execution of department objectives. Participates in preparation of the annual budget, reviews monthly expenditures and ensures that budgetary goals are met. Reviews monthly metrics to ensure goals are met.
- Project Management- Develops and supports a strategic alliance with business partners. Participates in cross-functional activities focused on solving business issues and enhancing our competitive advantage. Facilitates cross-functional communication with other areas of the business including but not limited to Finance, Operations, and Information Systems.
- Leads, plans, and coordinates work teams in an efficient manner to effectively perform any financial function and activity; utilizes metrics to track performance and manage workload. Ensures operational processes and procedures are compliant and consist with established policies.
- Predict Revenues and Expenditures and Report to Management.
- Conduct financial planning for function and make appropriate recommendations.
- Drive key functional financial metrics.

Direct Manager/Direct Reports:
- Typically reports to Director Finance
- Accountable for direct supervision of the work activities of others. Planning, monitoring and reviewing work of subordinates is required. This may include direct supervision of a shift or the coordination of multiple work groups. Makes recommendations concerning selection, termination, performance appraisal and professional development.
Travel Requirements:
- Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
Physical Requirements:
- Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
Working Conditions:
- Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
- Examples include: telephone operator and file clerk.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be eighteen years of age or older.
- Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications:
- CPA, CMA
- 8 years of experience working in large, matrixed Retail organization as a Finance partner for business areas such as Finance and Accounting.
- Demonstrated ability to partner with business to drive long term financial targets, annual plans and budgets and forecast in-quarter financial performance in a retail setting
- Proven ability to work effectively with Finance, IT and Business stakeholders and delivering value
- Demonstrated experience in managing complexities of competing priorities and program inter-dependencies
- Strong business acumen; experience implementing financial processes and systems with an ability to discriminate between symptoms and root causes.
- Track record as an excellent facilitator capable of influencing people over which he / she has no authority
- Ability to direct, coach and mentor functional managers, analysts and other junior members of the team.
Minimum Education:
- The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.

Paid Time Off (PTO):
Salaried associates are eligible for 2 weeks of vacation in their first year; FT hourly will be eligible for 40 hours of paid vacation time after 6 months of continuous service; (for positions in Washington State, Spokane, and Tacoma only) – Salary and Temporary associates will earn 1 hour of sick time for every 40 hours worked; FT associates will earn 1 hour of sick time for every 40 hours worked or 4 hours per month, whichever is greater; (for positions in Seattle only) – Salary and Temporary associates will earn 1 hour of sick time for every 30 hours worked; FT associates will earn 1 hour of sick time for every 30 hours worked or 4 hours per month, whichever is greater.
