In this role, you will be overseeing the day-to-day operations of LexYard, reporting to the Director of Food & Beverage, directly overseeing 1 Restaurant Assistant General Manager, 5 Assistant Managers 70 Front of House Team Members.
At LexYard, our newest culinary endeavor, James Beard Award-winning Chef Michael Anthony reimagines contemporary American dining through a farm-to-table lens, showcasing exceptional ingredient with a reverence for the local and seasonal. The menu finds its home in a space designed by renowned hospitality studio, AvroJO, where fluted columns and parquet floors nod to the hotel's spectacular Art Deco heritage.
The ideal candidate must be an exceptional leader with a passion for creating extraordinary experiences, a talent for training and developing others, and experienced in all aspects of restaurant operations (ex. financial performance, social media reputation, local market capture, and employee relations). At least 3-5 years of restaurant management experience in an upscale dining environment is required. Experience in a Michelin star restaurant and managing a unionized work environment is preferred.

Pay Rate: The annual salary range for this role is $120,000 - $150,000 and is based on applicable and specialized experience and location.
What will I be doing?
As a Restaurant General Manager, you would be responsible for directing and administering the activities and services of LexYard in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability.
Specifically, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
- Plan and direct all aspects of restaurant operations to include, but not limited to, guest service standards and initiatives, product quality, cost controls and overall profitability, marketing initiatives, systems use and management, budgeting and forecasting, department management, policy and procedure implementation and enforcement and meeting participation and facilitation
- Monitor and develop team member performance to include, but not limited to, providing supervision and professional development, conducting counselling and evaluations and delivering recognition and reward
- Create and maintain customer database and partner with Sales and Marketing/Public Relations on marketing strategy
- Maximize efficiency technology system(s) (i.e. Open Table)
- Monitor and assess service and satisfaction trends, evaluate and address issues and make improvements accordingly
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, sanitation and alcohol awareness standards
- Initiate and implement up-selling techniques to promote restaurant food and beverage and services and to maximize overall revenue, including, but not limited to, creating new menus and cross-selling products and services hotel-wide
- Recruit, interview and train team members
The following outlines the required qualifications for the Restaurant General Manager:
- Prior Restaurant Management experience in an upscale fine dining environment.
- Prior experience at a Michelin Star restaurant.
- Significant experience managing a unionized or organized workforce.
- No less than 5 years of substantial work experience at the level of General Manager.
It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:
- Prior Restaurant Management experience in a Forbes 5-Star hotel or equivalent.
- Committed to delivering high levels of customer service
- High level of IT proficiency
