Schedule based on a 2-2-3 pattern, alternating weekends.

Working Conditions: The AeroFarms facility has two areas: one is warm and humid: 78 degrees, the other is cold at 35 degrees. You are required to wear PPE provided by AeroFarms in the GMP/food production areas.

The Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician is responsible to troubleshoot, dismantle, inspect, repair, modify, rebuild, service and adjust all types of plant equipment. You would be joining during the start-up/ramp up to full production of the facility: this will allow you to get hands on with the systems and equipment to better understand how they work as the plant ramps to full operation. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Learn and become proficient to program, troubleshoot, and repair PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) Allen Bradley, Schneider, Siemens, Control Logix, Wago etc.

• Maintain and troubleshoot motion-controlled systems with integrated robotic work cell systems.

· Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of industrial equipment and systems.

· Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.

· Collaborate with production team members to identify and address maintenance issues.

· Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment performance using Computerized Maintenance Management Software (CMMS).

· Work with Packaging Technician and Farm Equipment Operators on establishing equipment home-settings and maintaining baseline conditions. 

· Print reading to include electrical, pneumatics, hydraulic, HVAC prints and schematics.

· Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair mechanical equipment, AC/DC electrical systems, PLC’s, HMI’s, motors, controls, VFD’s, servo and stepper-controlled systems, weigh scales, ink jet printers, network devices, sensors, valves, LED lighting, pumps, environmental sensors, and automated packaging lines

· Assist in developing plans to correct equipment deficiencies and determining long term solutions thru root cause analysis for equipment issues to improve reliability.

· Complete other duties as assigned or necessary including the willingness to work overtime, various shifts, and to be on-call.

· Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures.

Experience:

· Experience with Industrial Maintenance and Robotics

· Experience programming PLCs

· Experience with AC/DC motors and drives, 110-480Vac Circuits, thermocouples, single and three-phase circuits, HVAC, reversing starters, and personnel computers.

· Communication skills both verbally and written.

· Troubleshooting, conduit threading, bending installation, wiring installation, electronic repair skills.

· CPVC installation & repair

· Operation of equipment including a forklift, man lift, aerial lift, overhead cranes, and mobile cranes.

· Troubleshoot and repairs of complex equipment breakdowns involving mechanical and electrical aspects of machinery.

· Inspects and assesses the functionality of production machines.
• Analyze failures or equipment technical loss causes.
• Perform preventive and corrected maintenance on assigned equipment.
• Ensuring compliance with appropriate safety policies and procedures.

· Use of Voltmeters, calibration of equipment, oscilloscope leaders, PLCs, PCs.

· Calibration of all types of electrical equipment and knowledge of HVAC systems.

· Must exercise good judgment at all times and can complete assigned tasks, as well as breakdown repairs without direct supervision. Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize to ensure minimum interruption to the process.

· Work in an environment with a temperature that varies from extreme good to moderate. Exposure to farm environment: 70-78F at 65% RH in grow rooms and cold rooms at 33-36F, some areas are wet, dirty, and have some chemical exposure which is protected by PPE. Building maintenance with outside weather conditions up to (110 degrees), and as low as (10 degrees cold).

· A high to a very high degree of concentration is required.

· Strenuous physical activities including a lot of walking, climbing ladders and stairs, entering restricted areas, heavy lifting (50 lbs. or more), and working in high areas.

· Responsible for the maintaining and sanitation of all work tools.

· Able to work safely and follow all safety requirements to ensure safety to self and co-workers.

Qualifications:

· Two-year associate degree in a technical discipline or higher level of prior relevant experience performing industrial maintenance to be equivalent to degree requirements.

· Minimum of 3 years industrial maintenance, electrical, and/or plumbing within an automated manufacturing facility is required.

· Successful completion of an approved Heavy Industry Apprentice Program helpful

· Knowledge of and ability to troubleshoot, program, and repair PLC controlled manufacturing processes highly desirable.

· Knowledge of and prior experience with industrial robotic automation

· Print reading including electrical and hydraulic prints and schematics.

· Calibration of all types of electrical equipment and knowledge of HVAC systems.

· Rotating weekends required.


Skills:

· A high to a very high degree of concentration is required. Attention to detail and commitment to quality.

· Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize to ensure minimum interruption to the process.

· Fanuc robotics experience a plus

· Communication skills both verbally and in writing.

· Strong problem-solving skills and think analytically

· Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
