JOB REQUIREMENTS: 1. To interact, initiate and encourage the children in
the activities during the day. 2. To help the children control behavior
using a positive, appropriate approach; always using consistent
technique. 3. To provide the nurturance but to help the children become
independent. 4. To promote integral learning during snack times; to help
the children learn good social skills. 5. To maintain good communication
with parents and to make each parent feel at ease at the center. 6. To
assist the teacher and assistant teacher in planning activities for the
group and to offer suggestions and information about the children. 7. To
develop a cooperative and supportive attitude within the room. 8. To
assist the lead teacher in record keeping by assisting on observations
regarding the children\'s health, behavior and development. 9. To
function and help build a supportive team. Maintain a safe play
environment. Observe and monitor children\'s play activities.
Communicate with children\'s parents or guardians about daily
activities, behaviors, and related issues. Support children\'s emotional
and social development, encouraging understanding of others and positive
self-concepts. Sanitize toys and play equipment. Dress children and
change diapers. Keep records on individual children, including daily
observations and information about activities, meals served, and
medications administered. Identify signs of emotional or developmental
problems in children and bring them to parents\' or guardians\'
attention. Instruct children in health and personal habits, such as
eating, resting, and toilet habits. Organize and store toys and
materials to ensure order in activity areas. Read to children and teach
them simple painting, drawing, handicrafts, and songs. Discipline
children and recommend or initiate other measures to control behavior,
such as caring for own clothing and picking up toys and books. Regulate
children\'s rest periods. Sterilize bottles and prepare formulas.
