Job Description:

 Market Trust Director (MTD) is an experienced and skilled fiduciary professional. This position is a MTD role serving clients of Merrill Advisors as part of Bank of America’s National Trust Services group. In this capacity the MTD will partner with Merrill Advisory stakeholders such as Financial Advisor (FA) and Private Wealth Advisor (PWA) teams, Market Executives and Wealth Strategists to provide fiduciary oversight and trust administration to complex and sensitive client relationships.  In addition, the MTD will participate in the review and approval of new fiduciary business as well as discretionary requests.  The MTD will provide mentorship and guidance to Trust Officers and Trust Senior Associates.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage in high level fiduciary oversight, proactively identify issues and coordinate all trust administrative activities by partnering with internal groups, such as Office of Chief Fiduciary, Portfolio Oversight Group, Tax Services and others.
  • Meet with clients periodically to deepen relationships, address issues, develop new business opportunities, and/or provide trust, estate, and wealth transfer planning insight.
  • Partner with a Trust Senior Associate (TSA) to deliver a high level of service and responsiveness to Merrill advisors and clients while executing fiduciary responsibilities within the Bank of America’s established policies, procedures and protocols.
  • Review and approve new fiduciary appointments
  • Review and approve matters involving trustee discretion
  • Partner with Market Trust Executive (MTE) on office leadership activities

Desired Qualifications and skills:

  • 5 + years of technical expertise in the areas of trust administration, fiduciary law, and/or estate and wealth transfer planning.
  • Ability to balance sense of urgency and responsiveness with adherence to policies and procedures, as well as issue identification and resolution within the enterprise risk profile.
  • Aptitude to effectively build partnerships with internal stakeholders and external advisors to drive business development.
  • Effective written and verbal communicator, relationship builder, self-starter who can partner effectively with TSA to maintain efficient and organized day-to-day business practices

New York pay range:

$126,900 - $165,300 annualized salary, offers to be determined based on experience, education and skill set.

Discretionary incentive eligible
