Responsibilities

Position Summary:

This position will establish, build and lead our program from the ground up to bring GME and an Internal Medicine Residency Program to St. John’s Regional Medical Center and St. John’s Hospital Camarillo. The position will include leadership, administrative, teaching and patient care responsibilities.


The Director leads and oversees the Internal Medicine Residency Program. Tasked with working to ensure the success of the program’s aims and objectives, and that all requirements are met. Direct involvement in patient care is crucial, to include continuous supervision, mentoring, and direct teaching of the residents. The Director will have responsibility of managing the program overall, including but not limited to: recruitment, orientation, assessment, remediation, mentoring and career counseling of residents, as well as curriculum development, and accreditation management.


Qualifications
Education and Experience: 
  • Graduation from medical school or osteopathic medical school.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in administrative, educational and/or clinical leadership with Program Director or Associate Program Director experience preferred.
Licensure:
  • Active Board certification by the American Board of Internal Medicine; Active California Medical License.
Training: 
  • Completion of an ACGME accredited Internal Medicine residency training program.
