    UW Medical Center-Montlake – Rehab has an outstanding opportunity for an Assistant Nurse Manager for RN Clinical Oversight.

    WORK SCHEDULE
  • 90% FTE - 60% direct patient care, 30% in-office
  • Variable 12-hour shifts

  • DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
  • Our 16-bed inpatient rehabilitation unit is rated as #8 for Rehabilitation in the nation, by U.S. News and World Report, and continues to hold CARF (Commission of Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities) certification.  Rehab nurses provide specialized nursing care to patients with the following: spinal cord injury or disease (including tetraplegia with mechanical ventilation); acquired brain injury; stroke; tumor; amputation; neuromuscular diseases; musculoskeletal diseases; solid organ, blood, and marrow transplants; and mechanical circulatory support devices (VADs).  Rehabilitation is provided by an interdisciplinary team composed of the patient and family and individuals from many health care disciplines.

  • PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Collaborate with the Nurse Manager to develop and implement unit policies and procedures.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to nursing staff, ensuring adherence to best practices and standards. Fulfill charge nurse role.
  • Assist with performance evaluations and recruitment.
  • Monitor patient outcomes and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
  • Coordinate patient care, including admissions, discharges, and transfers.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Address patient and family concerns and provide excellent customer service.
  • Participate in budget planning and resource allocation.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and accreditation standards.
  • Foster a positive work environment and promote staff development.

  • REQUIREMENTS
  • At least 2 years of current/recent inpatient acute care rehab nursing experience
  • Demonstrated leadership and/or charge nurse experience
  • Active license to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Washington required by start date
  • Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers
