JOB REQUIREMENTS: Discover. Achieve. Succeed. #BeHere Location:
US:WI:MANITOWOC at our FROEDTERT HOLY FAMILY MEM HOSP facility. This job
is ON - SITE. FTE: 0.500000 Shift: 1 (Monday-Friday, 1st shift.
Flexibility of start/end time helpful) Job Summary: To facilitate
culturally and linguistically competent communication between
individuals with Limited English Proficiency (LEP) and medical providers
in a manner that promotes patient safety and confidentiality. Other
duties as assigned. EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION: A minimum of 1 year of
experience in providing medical interpreting in English and the target
language is required. Prefer Hmong language interpreting Three years of
directly related experience preferred. Experience at a Level I Trauma
Center preferred.EDUCATION DESCRIPTION: High School diploma or
equivalent is required. Associate Degree or Bachelor Degree in related
field preferred. Professional Medical Interpreter Program
preferred.SPECIAL SKILLS DESCRIPTION: Must be bilingual in English and
Hmong, solid knowledge of medical terminology and competence in
communicating the meaning of terms. Strong ability to interpret
diagnostic processes, treatments, procedures, preventive care, and be
culturally competent Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills necessary
to interact with patients, their families and health care providers.
Ability to perform under stressful situations and medical emergencies.
Ability to produce written translation of material, such as: various
forms, documents, patient letters and other material. SPECIAL SKILLS
PREFERRED: Formal interpreter training. 40 hour medical interpretation
training program. CCHI or NBCMI Certification. LICENSURE DESCRIPTION:
