The History Department within the College of Arts, Humanities, and Social
Sciences offers history courses to undergraduate students in a variety of
different geographical areas and periods, taught by our thirteen faculty
members. Our classes are writing and reading intensive with rigorous in-class
discussions, and opportunities to participate in hands-on historical
research, service-learning projects, and internships. Faculty and students
appreciate the small class sizes and close relationships they develop. All of
our 80-100 history majors are required to engage in a senior capstone
project, a 25-30 page paper based on primary source research and integration
of secondary source materials. This rigorous endeavor provides students with
the opportunity to learn about, and participate in, a focused area of
history. The History Department is strongly committed to building a diverse,

Position Summary
The Department of History is looking to hire adjunct faculty in the following
fields for academic year 2024-2025: modern Europe, modern Middle East,
19th and 20th century US, Latin America. All courses are taught at the
undergraduate level and will take place across 3 academic quarters (Fall,
Winter, and Spring).
