Position Title:  Indirect Lending Processor   

Department:  Indirect Lending 

Classification: Non-Exempt

Salary Range: $19.54 - $24.43 per hour


REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

Position Reports To:  Indirect Lending Manager  

Positions Supervised: None


POSITION PURPOSE

Responsible for data processing into loan system and maintaining documentation for accuracy and compliance. Perform a variety of administrative support related to documentation, processing, closing on indirect loans and indirect leases, and the lending function. Perform all responsibilities in accordance with agreed service standards, federal/state regulations and credit union policies/procedures. Daily work will involve cultivating and maintaining positive relationships with employees, dealers, and members.

Requirements

   

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

1. Develop and maintain positive relationships with both internal and external members, specifically dealers, members, and co-workers

2. Provide timely and accurate administrative support, including updating loan data in the system, assembling documentation for member loans, reviewing applications, and verifying information for indirect loans and leases

3. Timely contact and follow up with dealerships in regards to missing documentation required to disburse loans

4. Book loans and leases to the core system

5. Verify accuracy on indirect loan and lease packages received for funding in a timely manner and according to department “service standards,” assuring all stipulations of approval are met prior to disbursement. 

6. Communicate with management and lending team to ensure consistency and compliance in all areas of loan process, closing, funding and service standards. 

7. Provide excellent member and dealer service, solve issues as they arise, and escalate issues as necessary

8. Consistently review and recommend changes to improve workflow, efficiency, and quality

9. Scan and upload all finalized loan documentation to the appropriate system 

10. Assist in reviewing and updating lending policies and procedures

11. Cross-sell credit union products and services, as appropriate

12. Assist members with the setup of automatic, recurring electronic payments, as needed

13. Assist in training new employees

14. Performs additional duties as assigned

Performance is measured against the core competencies as outlined by the position and against goals established by Indirect Lending Management.



Qualifications


Education/Certification:

· 2 year college degree preferred plus 2 years of loan processing experience; or a comparable combination of education and experience

Required Knowledge:

· Knowledge of accounting principles, lending industry guidelines and strong communication skills. This position requires that the employee gain a working knowledge of Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) requirements and how they will affect their work. The employee will comply with all requirements of the BSA and cooperate with the designated BSA Officer in assuring compliance.

Experience Required: 

· Experience using P.C. based software including Microsoft Word and Excel

Skills/Abilities:

· Ability to project a professional appearance and positive attitude at all times.

documents or operate machinery.

Physical Strength: Sedentary work; sitting most of the time. Exerts up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally

Mental Activities & Requirements of This Position

Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form

Mathematics Ability: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations

Language Ability: Ability to use passive vocabulary of 5,000-6,000 words; to read at a slow rate; define unfamiliar words in dictionaries for meaning, spelling, and pronunciation.

Ability to write complex sentences, using proper punctuation, and use adjectives and adverbs.

Ability to communicate in complex sentences; using normal word order with present and past tenses; using a good vocabulary.
