Posting Summary | The Department of Environmental Sciences (DES) at Rutgers University New Brunswick is seeking a Postdoctoral Associate to conduct research on soil carbon in natural and managed forestland as well as in newly established experimental agrivoltaic fields. The theme of this position is the evaluation of the impacts of land uses and management strategies on soil carbon and associated soil and vegetation properties. The successful candidate will be involved in field sampling, analysis of soil carbon pools, and interpretation/modeling of sensor readings of dynamic soil properties in forests and agrivoltaic fields. Candidates will disseminate research findings through manuscripts and presentations. |

Minimum Education and Experience | A Ph.D. in Soil Science, Environmental Sciences or closely related fields is required, preferably with experience in characterizing the impact of land use and production systems on soil carbon. Knowledge on soil physics, particularly measurement and interpretation of water fluxes and soil hydraulic properties, is also required. This is an in-person position with no on-line/remote component. The selected candidate will be located at DES. |
