Geosyntec is growing and we are looking for a Senior Structural Engineer in our Milwaukee, WI, St. Louis, MO, Ann Arbor, Detroit, Grand Rapids, MI, Indianapolis, IN, Columbus or Cincinnati, OH offices to serve as a technical manager in the Structural Engineering Department of our Geostructural and Construction Engineering practice. As a member of our growing practice, you will be asked to apply your knowledge of structural engineering to series of technically diverse and unique construction projects. As the technical manager your job will be to provide technical oversight and lead the design team through the engineering process and plan development. As Geosyntec has a very diverse set of clients, there is a broad spectrum of projects that may involve; bridge and heavy-civil construction, erection and controlled demolition engineering, earth retaining structures, complex foundations, and/or dams and containment structures. Essential Duties and Responsibilities




Provide technical guidance throughout the design process, often serving as the senior reviewer of calculations and structural models.
Provide quality control of construction documents.
Assisting and Training Early and Mid-Career professionals with CAD coordination and plan development for particularly unique challenges while serving as the Task/Project manager, maintaining control of the design process throughout.
Be able to serve as Engineer of Record.
Contribute as required as a designer/analyst.
Structural value engineering, third party design and constructability review, and risk assessment.
Structural Condition Assessments.


Education and Licensure




Bachelor's degree in civil engineering with a structural engineering focus. (required)
Master's degree in Civil Engineering (Structural). (preferred)
Professional registration as a Professional Engineer (P.E.). (required)
Professional registration as a Structural Engineer (S.E.) (preferred)


Skills, Experience and Qualifications




At least 8 years (10+ preferred) directly relevant experience in a design environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience. (required)
Experience in the design and detailing of steel connections and reinforced concrete. (required)
Experience in repair/retrofit design of concrete and steel structures. (required)
The ability to sit for the NCEES 20-Hour Structural Engineering exam within two years of hire. (preferred)
Knowledge of relevant structural engineering design and detailing software (RISA, ETABS, RAM, SAP2000, SAFE, GSA, etc.) (required)
Knowledge of design collaboration software (Bluebeam Studio), and operation of CAD/VDC/BIM software (AutoCAD, Revit, etc.). (preferred)
Knowledge of general numerical modeling tools. (preferred)
Experience working within the construction sector or performing design work for contractors/construction managers. (preferred)
Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, and meeting strict deadlines. (required)
Current OSHA 10-hr training. (preferred)
Valid U.S. driver's license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)
