Commercial Truck Driving Adjunct Instructor - Pool
Nature of Duties: Under general supervision, prepares lesson plans for classroom instruction for credited technical/occupational courses; prepares standardized course syllabi using a provided template; assesses students’ satisfactory progress based on established course grading requirements. May be required to attend professional development training as required for specific classroom or online course delivery. Teaches Automotive Technology courses in a classroom/lab/field environment that closely simulates the industry environment while maintaining knowledge of current trends and developments in the field. Provides instruction in the theory and practical applications of Automotive Technology. Measures program or departmental student learning outcomes for continuous student improvement and success. Requires strong computer skills, communication skills, and the ability to interact effectively with a diverse student population. Selected candidates must be able to work morning or evening hours, Monday thru Thursday. |
Minimum Qualifications: · Certificate in Commercial Truck Driving from an accredited institution or Accredited Industry Training · Three (3) years out of the past seven (7) years of over-the-road (OTR) experience · Current CDL – Class A · Clean MVR for past seven (7) years · Current DOT Physical |
Preferred Qualifications: · Accredited Industry Training CTD Program and 10 or more years over the road experience · Directly related teaching experience at the postsecondary level · Online Teaching Experience |
Special Instructions to Applicants: To be considered for the Adjunct Pool, applicants must upload transcripts, resumes, and certifications with their application. Adjunct Pool applications are for the current academic year. A new application is required each academic year. Adjuncts are paid on a per-contact-hour basis. All courses are face-to-face unless otherwise indicated. Courses are offered Monday through Thursday during both morning and evening hours. Campus locations for this pool are LaGrange Campus and Carroll Campus. |
