Data Engineering Manager Responsibilities
  • Work closely with Product Managers, Data Scientists, and Software Engineers to support product launches and roadmaps.
  • Build the data architecture that provides product insight.
  • Drive the vision for business intelligence (BI) and data warehousing across a product vertical, and define and execute on a plan to achieve that vision.
  • Use strong data infrastructure and data architecture skills to build a high-quality BI and data warehousing team and design the team to scale.
  • Utilize expertise in programming languages such as SQL, Python, or Java to define the processes needed to achieve operational excellence in areas including project management and system reliability.
  • Manage data warehouse plans across a product vertical and drive data quality across the product vertical and related business areas.
  • Manage the delivery of high impact dashboards and data visualizations.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Requires a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Business Administration (MBA), or related field and four years of work experience in job offered or in a computer-related occupation. Requires three years of experience in the following:
  • 1. Data ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) design, implementation, and maintenance on a large scale
  • 2. Analyzing large volumes of data to provide data driven insights, gaps, and inconsistencies
  • 3. Data warehousing architecture and plans
  • 4. Informatica, Talend, Pentaho, dimensional data modeling, or schema design
  • 5. Data management and processing technologies including relational database technologies (MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server, Teradata, Netezza, Vertica, Redshift, or Snowflake) and nonrelational database technologies (Hadoop, Map/Reduce, Presto, Spark, Hive, or Hbase)
  • 6. Programming in C#, Python, or Java
  • 7. Internet technologies: HTTP, HTML, CSS, or JavaScript
  • 8. Writing SQL statements.

$258,743/year to $279,400/year + bonus + equity + benefits

Individual pay is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base salary only, and do not include bonus, equity or sales incentives, if applicable. In addition to base salary, Meta offers benefits.
