 The opportunity:

Quality Coordinator position is open in our Longview, Box plant. The position will report to the Quality Manager in the facility. The Quality Coordinator position is responsible for performing clerical tasks, inspecting incoming materials, audits work in process and finished goods to assure compliance with quality standards and customer requirements. 

 

How you will impact WestRock:

 

·         Maintains divisional Standard Operating procedures, work instructions, all quality forms, etc. 

·         Maintains CIS documentation on the Intranet. 

·         Inspect incoming materials to assure conformance with specifications. 

·         Review and sign retain samples and escalate any quality concerns to the Quality Manager or Plant Superintendent/Plant Manager as well as any full rejected rolls 

·         Perform all routine calibration/verification and inspection of measurement devices.

·         Assist quality manager on training on quality procedures, quality systems (i.e., X-rite, Measure Color), quality equipment (i.e., BST ProMark), and recognition of quality issues on samples and any other quality related items as needed.

·         Assess measure and submit samples to customers as per established procedures

·         Retain print samples for specified retention period.

·         Collect and submit samples of rejected stock to the paper mill  

·         Assist with quality problem solving and trouble-shooting activities

·         Assist in responding to customer complaints, investigations and performing PSB meetings.

·         Coordinating PSB completion with supervisors and their crews, reviewing and ensuring proper completion and auditing PSB actions for sustainability

·         Responsible for ensuring plant color management software are maintained and updated

·         Audits supervisors and press crews on work instruction and quality best practices adherence

·         Audits all press retains and reports on adherence to quality standards                                   

·         Audit production processes, ensuring compliance with work order specifications, and that finished product meets customer requirements. 

·         Verify compliance with GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices) and SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures). 

·         File claims in Paperwise to the mills

·         Complete yearly CoC core team training.

·         Become yellow belt certified within 1 year or accepting the position.

·         Communicate issues to operations and vendors, if necessary. 

·         Participate in and/or assist with internal QA audits, Customer audits, and Regulatory Agency audits as required. 

 

What you need to succeed:

  • High School Diploma with a University Degree preferred.
  • Strong mathematical, analytical, and critical thinking skills are a must
  • Six Sigma Yellow Belt with a Sig Sigma Green Belt preferred
  • At least two years’ experience in printing and/ or quality related environment
  • Strong background in computers and MS office applications. 
  • Able to produce high-quality, accurate and data-based reports  
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to constantly change priorities in a very dynamic environment
  • Flexible, self-directed and results oriented
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Previous knowledge of quality systems. 
  • Proficient in math and computer skills. 
  • Able to communicate effectively with management, production employees and Customers as needed.

The salary range for this position is $38,625.00 - $64,375.00, depending on your role, level, and location. The benefits for this role may include short-term bonus incentive, health insurance, flexible spending accounts, health savings accounts, retirement savings plans, life and disability insurance programs, and a number of programs that provide for both paid and unpaid time away from work. Your actual pay will be based on your work location and other factors, such as your skills, experience, and education.
