Job Description

 
Anticipated period of employment: 03/26/2024 to 12/20/2024 Three months of vegetable farm work experience required. As a vegetable farm practicing natural farming methods, we will need manual labor to perform the following tasks: (March - May) Set up and assemble propagation racks, LED lights, and heat pads. Mix seedling mix and fertilizers by using hand tools and/or mixing equipment. Prepare 1020 seedling trays with prepared mix. Insert various and Asian vegetable seeds. Check & adjust moisture and temperatures regularly. Prepare greenhouse planting beds by shaping rows through the use of a variety of hand tools to include, but not limited to, broad fork, hoe, rake, and flat head shovel. Soil test for ideal PH neutrality, and add lime/calcium to mitigate highly acidic soils. Lay wood chip mulch for walkways and lay down weed fabric in adjacent walkways. Lay down drip tape for irrigation. Repair greenhouse by repairing, pulling and securing plastic covers.Prepare cucumber beetle yellow sticky traps.
