Required Skills: | Position Overview:
The Clinical Dietitian is responsible for providing and supervising nutritional services provided to acute patients including screening, assessment, planning, implementation and monitoring of Medical Nutritional Therapy (MNT). The Clinical Dietitian provides and oversees nutritional education to the patient as well as the health care team and community events offered by Winona Health and/or community organizations. The Clinical Dietitian is responsible for performing and providing a mentoring/preceptor role to Dietetic students/interns. The Clinical Dietitian provides Medical Nutrition Therapy to a myriad of acute patients on MSP/FBC/ICU following standard of care guidelines. The Clinical Dietitian provides support and guidance to the Nutrition Specialist for Senior Services. Participates in Care Coordination as part of the medical management of patient care. Follows infection control procedures during contact with patients. Is constantly vigilant to the safety needs of patients, taking necessary precautions as warranted.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Keeps updated on current Medical Nutrition Therapy issues related to patient-based services including patients of all ages and diagnosis types. Assists as needed in the update of policies and procedures for Nutrition Services and Nursing Services. Develops, implements, and evaluates educational programs for Winona Health and the community. Serves as a liaison between Winona Health and the community. Demonstrates understanding and support of CSI philosophies.
Essential Skills and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition/Dietetics Must be a Registered Dietitian with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Must have a current Minnesota Dietitian License Basic Computer Skills: Word, Excel, Outlook, Patient Information Database (Cerner) |
