The Opportunity:
Abbott is looking for a Senior Solutions Architect to work within Abbott’s Digital Products and Services group.
As a Solutions Architect, you will provide critical thought leadership and direction to push the limits of technology design and innovation across Abbott’s global businesses.
This role will design and implement cutting edge technology solutions, mentor engineers and will act as an evangelist in technology architectures and ways of working. With a focus on providing senior technical leadership, this role will be a key influencer of Abbott’s next generation of AI, Microservices, API, Data and Cloud Computing technology products and services.
What You'll Work On:
- Serve as a catalyst for innovation, focusing on AI and emerging technologies.
- Act as a technology lead on programs taking them from ideation to production
- Rapidly build prototypes helping businesses quickly innovate and ideate new business technology capabilities
- Collaborate with other Engineers and Architects to influence and establish engineering best practices through solid design decisions, processes and tools. Set goals, strategies, and oversee the deployment of large-scale projects across multiple technologies.
- Work across product teams to architect, build and design next-generation technology platforms.
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring of engineering teams, working closely with architects and business leaders.
- Develop multi-year product roadmaps, provide the vision and work with individual architects to translate this into a tactical engineering blueprint.
- Lead tool and technology selection. Drive standardization and reuse of industry leading technology across the organization.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE, YOU’LL BRING
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree / Master’s Degree preferred
- 10+ years of Software Engineering experience.
- Experience in building/implementing high performance & scalable server-side applications.
- Technical leadership skills in driving architecture, helping with technical trade-offs, and driving best practices
- Advanced-level knowledge of 2 or more of the following technologies: AI/ GenAI, mobile/web frameworks, multi cloud, security and privacy, event streaming, distributed system design, microservices.
- Strong communication Skills
- You have high standards for quality and attention to detail
- Self-starter and enthusiastic personality who can work well both independently and as a team member
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience implementing large scale AI/GenAI use cases in production.
- Foster innovative thinking in a collaborative environment.
- A background in development and design is highly desirable.

The base pay for this position is $127,300.00 – $254,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
