Job Description

 
Support the procurement team with tender and/or contract price analysis and reference to baseline and revised estimates Support the commercial team with unit cost modelling, costs analysis feedback for final account and/or significant contract scope proposed change analysis and preparation of project close-out analysis Proficient in the use of unit cost modelling tools and provide improvement initiatives Stay abreast of developments within own technical area of expertise to be able to give best practice advice in line with business objectives Support collation of data for KPIs as defined and required in a timely, accurate manner Estimate cost for multiple heavy/civil construction projects, including quantity take-off and pricing Manage the delivery of preconstruction services for projects, provide input, coordination, and problem-solving at all stages of construction Meet with the client to establish the needs, requirements, and constraints of the project Participate in the preparation of proposals and work with marketing specialists for new business and presentations to clients Facilitate go/no go decisions for upcoming projects 5 years full time experience as a civil cost estimator / quantity surveyor / cost manager The ability to establish and maintain excellent relationships with both internal and external clients Good knowledge of civil engineering construction techniques Good knowledge of RMS project estimating guidelines Excellent attention to detail, proactive, forward thinking with the ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently and work to deadlines Excellent oral & written and communication skills will be expected
