We are looking for a skilled Accounting Manager to join our team on a contract, possible to hire, basis in Stratford, Connecticut. This role is essential for overseeing financial operations, ensuring accurate reporting, and supporting audits and budgetary processes. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in account reconciliation, journal entries, and month-end closing procedures. Property Management or Condo Association experience is a plus.
Responsibilities:
• Manage month-end close activities, ensuring timely and accurate preparation of financial statements.
• Oversee general ledger operations, including journal entries and adjustments.
• Prepare detailed monthly reporting packages and deliver presentations to stakeholders.
• Administer accounts payable processes, including vendor management and payment approvals.
• Provide backup support for accounts receivable tasks, such as recording and depositing checks.
• Identify and resolve financial discrepancies to maintain accurate records.
• Produce monthly trial balances and comprehensive financial reports.
• Perform account reconciliations to ensure alignment across accounts.
• Maintain and update inventory and fixed asset schedules as needed.
• Assist in the preparation and execution of financial audits and annual budgets.
• Proven experience in month-end close processes and general ledger management.
• Strong knowledge of financial statement audits and account reconciliation.
• Proficiency in preparing journal entries and maintaining accurate accounting records.
• Familiarity with accounts payable and accounts receivable workflows.
• Ability to manage fixed assets and inventory schedules effectively.
• Experience supporting or leading audit preparation activities.
• Solid understanding of financial planning and analysis.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
