Job Description:
Summary:
The person in this position will be part of an innovative and collaborative
geotechnical engineering team of over 90 geotechnical engineers and
geologists. Barr's geotechnical engineering team serves the fuels,
mining, power, and public sectors. We provide a wide array of services
related to foundations, dams, embankments, landslides, soil-structure
interaction, earth-retaining structures, excavations, and underground
structures. We also offer geotechnical services for ground improvement,
geotechnical modeling, instrumentation and monitoring, in-situ testing,
geophysics, soil dynamics and earthquake engineering, geosynthetics,
geohazard assessments, and groundwater and seepage.
The person in this position will work on a variety of geotechnical projects
that involve traditional geotechnical and civil analysis and design related to
shallow and deep foundations, slope stability, seepage, bearing
capacity, settlement, and earth retention with an emphasis on mine
tailing's storage facilities and water retention dams. Additionally, this
role involves supporting, growing, and building a dynamic team to expand
Barr's Western U.S. dams practice.
