We are looking for an experienced Senior Cost Accountant to join our team in Stillwater, Minnesota. In this role, you will play a key part in maintaining and optimizing our cost accounting systems, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and analyzing cost data to drive informed business decisions. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a meticulous individual to contribute to a dynamic manufacturing environment.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Develop and manage a robust cost accounting system to ensure precise tracking and reporting of costs.<br>• Generate and distribute daily production reports, variance analyses, and ad hoc financial summaries.<br>• Analyze differences between standard and actual costs, providing explanations for variances at the project and part levels.<br>• Update and verify the accuracy of standard costs and bills of materials (BOMs).<br>• Deliver actionable insights from data analysis to support strategic business decisions.<br>• Prepare detailed gross margin reports each month, broken down by customer, product, and job.<br>• Assess the cost implications of changes to product designs, materials, or manufacturing processes.<br>• Collect and analyze data related to raw materials, labor, and operational activities to determine true costs.<br>• Implement and monitor cost control measures to enhance efficiency and reduce expenses.<br>• Assist with month-end and year-end financial close processes, including reconciliations and variance analyses.
