Description

The Registered Dietitian plans nutritional programs and provides education to assist in the promotion of health and management of disease.
This is a full-time position working M-F from 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, primarily out of the Maternal Fetal Consultants and Obstetrics, Gynecology & Infertility (ogi) clinics in Edina, MN. Upon completion of training, this will be a hybrid position.
OBGYN Associates is an operating division of Infinite Health Collaborative (i-Health), a group of local medical practices, owned and led by its physicians, on a mission to give patients more control over their healthcare. Essential Functions:
Provide direct patient care using medical nutrition therapy and diabetes self-management education for an assigned patient population
Provide counseling and education services to patient with diabetes, obesity and other indications that require nutritional management:
Provide nutrition education to patients and their family or support
Evaluate patient and family response to education
Implement an individualized nutritional care plan with communication of the plan to the provider; establishes a follow-up system and maintains documentation
Collaborate in the development, review, updating and implementation of educational materials to meet the needs of patients and health professionals
Utilize approved protocols for medication management to advance the plan of care when appropriate
Collaborate with other health care providers in the management and care delivery of patients per protocol and as needed to deliver the highest quality patient care
Work within set budgets for equipment/supply purchasing
Communicate regularly with MDs and APPs to best implement high quality nutrition programs
Partner with Providers and Leaders to ensure goals and strategies of Women's Health are implemented in the growth and development of nutrition services
Practice within the scope of MN State rules/regulations
Maintain safe environment for patients and staff
Any and all other duties as assigned
Education and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor's degree from institution credentialed by Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics and (ACEND)
Completed ACEND accredited supervised practice program
Licensed Dietitian through Minnesota Board of Dietetics and Nutrition Practice
Certified as a Registered Dietitian (RD) through the Commission on Dietetic Registration
Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) credentialing preferred OR experience in management of patients with diabetes
Essential Requirements:
Ability to:

Comply with all applicable laws and regulations, (e.g. HIPAA, Stark, OSHA, employment laws, etc.)
Demonstrate prompt and reliable attendance
Work in the clinic during business hours
Travel independently throughout the clinic (which may include movement from floor to floor); frequent bending, lifting, standing, stooping or sitting for long periods of time may be required
Work at an efficient and productive pace, handle interruptions appropriately and meet deadlines
Communicate and interact in a respectful and professional manner
Prioritize workload while being flexible to meet the expectations of the daily operations
Apply principles of logical thinking to define problems, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
Understand and execute a variety of instructions
Effectively operate equipment and communicate on and operate the phone system
Work independently with minimal supervision
Travel to other work locations, if required
