About Our Program

The Individualized Residential Alternative (IRA) Program operates 12 residential homes that caters to adults who are diagnosed with moderate to severe developmental disabilities. The hallmark of the IRA program is our People-Centered Approach, where the individual is the primary decision maker regarding their life and treatment. Our residents go on outings, play sports, conduct household chores, work and have fun!

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Residential Manager, the Assistant Residential Manager will be responsible for implementing the activities of the co-ed community residence.

  • Oversees team supervision of Direct Support Professionals
  • Leads case management and coordination of services to residents
  • Facilitates resident orientation and participate in the development of service plans
  • Provides informal situational counseling to residents
  • Ensures that the house, vehicles, and grounds are safe and well maintained
  • Administrative duties as assigned, including maintenance of resident and case records
  • Responds to emergencies and unforeseen circumstances
  • Must be available on an on-call basis as needed for consultation and relief

This is a full-time position located in Greenport, NY - flexibility needed for schedule. 

Required Qualifications

  • 2 years’ experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid NYS Driver’s License

Preferred Qualifications

  • BA/BS Degree
  • Previous experience in the field
  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Proficiency in computer skills including MS Word, Excel & Outlook
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Highly organized and detail oriented, including time management
