Project Manager Customer & Sales Operations Position Summary

The Project Manager is an integral role within the Americas Healthcare business unit and will deploy project management methodologies and tools to implement process and systems improvements. These include Lean initiatives, software implementations/upgrades, operational efficiencies, and organizational changes. The Project Manager has responsibility for managing and executing large cross-functional projects within the Americas Healthcare business unit. The position will work cross-functionally with groups such as Sales, Service, Marketing, Training, Finance, Operations, and IT with the objective of driving projects to completion, on time and at/under budget.

Duties

Manages and leads technology and Healthcare business units projects through all stages from initiation through closure
Define, develop and implement specific improvement opportunities as they relate to the efficiency and profitability of the Americas Healthcare business unit
Lead the planning, directing, coordinating and driving of multiple projects, varying in size and scope and recommend revisions in project work plans as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements
Facilitates the definition of projects' scope, goals and deliverables throughout the initiation phase
Manages multiple cross-functional projects using formal project management methodologies
Coordinates intradepartmental projects and resources as required
Maintains project plans that accurately reflect task owners, completed and future work including timelines, milestones and dependencies
Identify and define resource requirements and assignments
Manage all STERIS and non-STERIS resources assigned to the effort, including defining each team member's role and responsibility
Effectively apply stage/gate methodology and enforce project standards
Prepare and present reports defining project progress, problems and solutions
1Develop a project agenda and prioritize based on impact and timelines
Drive project teams to make decisions, complete tasks, and execute the plan based on defined deliverables and timelines
Develop scorecards and metrics for each initiative to track progress and share with leadership and team members
Use Lean philosophies and methodology for process improvement
Prepare, conduct and facilitate Kaizen events as needed
Gather statistical data to support identified opportunities
Measure implemented solutions

Change Management

Document new processes and procedures
Implement process, technology or organizational changes based on determined solutions
Prepare and deliver all communications related to the initiative
Prepare comprehensive implementation plans
Ensure a smooth transition from recommendation to implementation including the preparation of performance metrics from which progress will be gauged

Education Degree
Bachelor's Degree

Required Experience


7 - 10 years of business experience
Experience in managing 2 - 3 major business projects from concept to implementation

Preferred Experience


Experience in Customer Service, Supply Chain and/or Finance preferred
Lean experience preferred
Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification preferred

Skills

Solid knowledge/understanding of business processes
The ability to manage multiple projects at the same time is critical to the success of this role
Strong influence skills with the ability to build strong, collaborative relationships and complete tasks without direct accountability
Excellent organization, prioritization and decision-making skills required
Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required to effectively manage cross functional teams
Overall professional confidence and maturity that commands respect
Demonstrated operational leadership capability including driving continuous improvement initiatives both inside and outside direct organizational responsibilities
Demonstrated problem solving and decision-making skills involving system design, internal business process development and tactical business decisions
Demonstrated analytical and project management skills including data gathering, analysis, development of recommendations and creation of project plans
Demonstrated comfort with ambiguity
Deep appreciation for quality control
Excellent formal presentation skills before small and large groups
