JOB REQUIREMENTS: Position Description: Certified Anesthesiologist
Assistant, GI Anesthesiology Division The Medical College of Wisconsin
is seeking a Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant (CAA) to join its
Adult Anesthesiology Division. The successful candidate must possess the
ability to provide high quality anesthesia care to a complex patient
population, working directly under the supervision of our Adult
Anesthesiologists and as part of a team of highly trained and dedicated
team of CAAs and certified nurse anesthetists. Specifications: Preferred
Experience: Previous CAA experience in Anesthesiology Minimum Education:
Master\'s of Science in Anesthesiology degree required. Candidates can
be either a Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant or board eligible for
certification as a CAA. Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work
Experience: adult healthcare; previous CAA experience Wisconsin AA
license AHA BCLS and/or ACLS required Responsibilities: Administer
general and local anesthesia Maintain , including testing and
calibration Prepare patients to be effectively monitored Monitor
patients under anesthesia Make recommendations regarding anesthetic care
plans Perform post-procedure tests on patients to ensure that they are
recovering well Responsible for the operation of anesthesia equipment to
monitor patients while delivering direct anesthesia care. Provide direct
patient care before, during and after anesthesia to ensure continuity of
care and quality. Obtain complete patient medical histories, conducting
physical exams, and pre-procedure interviews Review the complete patient
medical history to confirm its authenticity with the patient/family to
ensure it is accurate with the physical exams and pre-procedure
interviews Administer/order required diagnostic and laboratory tests
Work with s to determine the next step of prep for the procedures and
begin the stages of prepping the patient for the procedure Employ CPR or
other emergency procedures as indicated Perform varies administrative
duties that might involve collecting medical records, conducting patient
chart reviews, and following up with patients/families pre or post
procedures Education and Professional Requirements Preferred Experience:
