The Office of Naval Intelligence's (ONI) Nimitz Operational Intelligence Center (OIC) has an open continuous vacancy announcement on its website for multiple GG-13 Intelligence Specialists.  The link to the vacancy announcement is: https://www.oni.navy.mil/Careers/Current-Openings/ The individuals filling these position will serve as full performance intelligence specialists in Nimitz's Naval Warfare Department (NWD), performing tasks regarding the analysis, evaluation, collection, interpretation, or dissemination of information and/or products to meet Naval Fleet requirements.  See the announcement for specifics on the responsibilities, conditions of employment, and qualification requirements and additional information pertaining to the positions.  The selectees must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).  Selectees may be required to successfully complete a polygraph examination. T hese jobs are open to all US citizens.

ONI and its Centers are located in Suitland, MD, which is a few miles south of Washington, DC. Nimitz OIC provides operational and strategic analysis of events associated with the maritime domain and supports fleet commanders and national policymakers, providing timely and relevant analysis tailored to meet their requirements. NWD provides detailed analysis of naval warfare threats posed by foreign weapons systems and countries of interest. NWD provides this dedicated, Fleet-focused support via four functionally aligned divisions: SABER (surface warfare), SPEAR (air warfare), SWORD (undersea warfare), and SPECTRUM (cyber/electronic warfare/C4ISR).

ONI is a core element of the Navy's Information Warfare Community whose goal is to gain and hold a decisive information advantage over America's potential adversaries.  ONI collects, analyzes, and produces maritime intelligence and disseminates that intelligence rapidly to strategic, operational, and tactical decision makers to meet Navy, DoD, and national requirements.  Our integrated workforce of active duty and Reserve naval and civilian professionals supports combat operations and provides vital information for planning America's defense against maritime threats at home and around the world.  We produce maritime intelligence on naval weapons and technology proliferation, transnational threats in civil maritime counter-proliferation, counter-narcotics and the global maritime environment, and other activities that directly support the U.S. Navy, joint war fighters and national decision makers and agencies.

There are five Centers of Excellence that are distinct commands under the Office of Naval Intelligence:
