This is a summer internship position at our corporate headquarters campus in the Midtown Corridor of Cleveland, OH.

Job Description

Applied Industrial Technologies is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Supply Chain Summer Intern to join our team for an immersive internship experience. This role provides an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to multiple aspects of the supply chain, including purchasing, logistics, and master data management. During the internship, responsibilities will be in key areas of supply chain operations to learn about and contribute to each function. This internship is designed to provide an understanding of supply chain, develop problem solving skills, and provide valuable insight into business operations.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

Assist with purchasing/buying, including the communication and coordination of purchase orders
Support the purchasing team in ensuring timely delivery and managing order discrepancies
Gain exposure to shipping, transportation, and warehousing activities
Learn about freight bill and pay, and help to solve invoices issues
Assist in projects that will improve efficiencies within the supply chain
Learn how to manage and maintain accurate master data
Assist in ensuring the integrity and consistency of product, supplier, and customer data

Support cross-functional teams in identifying and correcting data discrepancies

Requirements

Solid analytical & problem-solving skills
Ability to work with a team as well as independently
Strong interpersonal skills; positive business relationships
Effective written and verbal communication skills including proper English grammar
Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks
Interest in supply chain processes and a willingness to learn
Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Data Analytics, Logistics, or a related field
