Job Summary: The Gage Control Technician is responsible for managing and maintaining the calibration and control of measurement tools, instruments, and equipment used in aerospace manufacturing. This role ensures compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies to maintain precision and accuracy in all measurement activities. Key Responsibilities: Maintain the gage calibration system to ensure all measurement tools and equipment are properly calibrated and meet required specifications. Schedule and perform in-house calibration of measuring instruments and coordinate external calibration services. Maintain detailed records of calibration, repairs, and certifications in accordance with industry standards such as AS9100, ISO 9001, company procedures and customer requirements. Identify and remove non-conforming gages from use and coordinate corrective actions as needed. Develop and implement procedures for gage control, calibration, and verification processes. Support production, quality, and engineering teams by providing accurate and up-to-date measurement tools. Conduct periodic audits of gage inventory and ensure proper storage and handling of precision measurement equipment. Assist in troubleshooting and resolving measurement discrepancies related to gages and instruments. Maintain an organized gage database and labeling system for easy identification and tracking of calibration due dates using Calibration software. Train employees on proper use and handling of measurement instruments to ensure accuracy and longevity. Qualifications & Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or associate degree in a related field preferred. 2+ years of experience in gage control, calibration, or quality assurance in an aerospace or manufacturing environment. Knowledge of AS9100, ISO 9001, and other aerospace industry standards. Experience with calibration software and gage tracking databases. Strong understanding of precision measurement tools, including micrometers, calipers, indicators, height gauges, and CMMs. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
