Job Description
JOB REQUIREMENTS: Drive tractor trailer (class A drivers) with muti
speed manual transmission and automatic transmission The ability and
flexibility to pull body weight safely into the cab from the ground (the
pounds of pull would include the driver\'s weight and how one handles
oneself) in all types of weather including ice, snow, and rain Maneuver
trucks into loading or unloading positions and check that vehicle and
loading equipment are properly positioned Perform pre and post trip
safety inspection of truck per DOT guidelines Perform basic vehicle
maintenance tasks such as adding oil, fuel, or radiator fluid or
performing minor repairs Inventory and inspect good to be moved to
determine quantities and conditions Secure loads to trailer walls using
proper strapping techniques Lift and lower trailer lift gates Place
carts and pallets in trucks so they will be available to facilitate
placement and movement of goods Pull and push mail cages/carts on and
off trailers. Weighing between 500 and 1000 pounds Lift mail bags and
tubs weighing between 25 and 100 pounds Check condition of tractor and
trailer after contents have been unloaded to ensure that there has been
no damage Remove debris from tractor and trailer Pound trailer brake
drums if frozen Hook and unhook 5th wheel and pull pin on tractor
trailers Use an ELD to log in and out of on the MMS tractor at the start
of shift to drive and when done with shift. \*\*\*\*\* OTHER EXPERIENCE
AND QUALIFICATIONS: Holds a Class A CDL At least 1 year of experience
DOT Medically Qualified or can obtain medical certification Good driving
record Professional safety-minded person Team player who is flexible and
willing to jump in and help out when needed Displays a positive attitude
