The Department of Campus Safety's Community Health Crisis Supervisor
Responder position exists to provide direct mental health/crisis related
services to support the health safety of the DU community, its affiliates
and local community members. This position initiates emergency and/or
intermediate measures. including mental health assessment, intervention and
support for people experiencing mental health crisis. The Responder is a
specialized clinical position that serves as the mental health consultant and
liaison for DU Campus Safety both internally and with campus and community
partners. The Responder clinician will respond to mental health calls to
provide in the moment crisis assessments, disposition planning, and
follow-up care coordination. This position may also be deployed with DU Campus
Safety Officers. The Responder clinician will provide crisis care and
afterhours consultation to DU students, faculty, and staff seeking care as
needed. The majority of this work wil
l take place in the field, outside of a traditional office, as this
position will be joining DU Campus Safety Officers for mental health-related
calls/situations. These environments could include going into student's
residence halls, academic buildings, sports stadiums or other areas within
the university and surrounding areas. The supervisor responder clinician
position will sit on the CARE team and the (faculty and staff CARE team).
