  • OPPORTUNITY

    University of Washington Medical Center – Northwest – Rehabilitation FULL-TIME, OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST - INPATIENT.

    This role performs occupational therapy treatments and related duties as prescribed by an MD, DO, DDS, PA, ARNP, podiatrist, chiropractor or naturopathic physician.  Assigned patients may be hospital inpatients.

    WHAT WILL YOUR DAY LOOK LIKE?

  • Evaluate and treat patients with a variety of physical and mental impairments to achieve maximum functional capacity;
  • Confer with medical and other staff members to determine occupational therapy program for individual patients; select situations or activities which require desired motions or actions or help modify behavior and teach the skills necessary to the activity;
  • Report data in both written and oral form following policies and procedures;
  • Participate as a member of an interdisciplinary team and work with patient and family in developing treatment goals and evaluating patient progress;
  • Provide treatment and training to increase daily living skills;
  • Attend and participate in medical rounds and professional meetings with medical consultants;
  • Maintain service related records; adhere to documentation requirements for reimbursement purposes;
  • Evaluate and recommend modifications to community, home and work sites.
  • Adapt and fabricate basic orthotic devices and therapeutic equipment;
  • Recommend and issue occupational therapy materials and equipment;
  • Maintain a clean, safe working environment;
    May provide work direction and instruction to occupational therapist students, occupational therapy assistants, and other personnel in performance of therapeutic activities; and
  • Perform related duties as required.

    WHAT’S NEEDED?

  • Graduation from an accredited Occupational Therapy Program and successful completion of American Occupational Therapy certification examination.
    OR
  • Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification or registration.

    LICENSE REQUIRED

    Licensed by the state of Washington as an Occupational Therapist
