Wastewater Treatment Operator - Eagle River Water and Sanitation District
Eagle River Water & Sanitation District is looking to add to our expert team of Wastewater Operators! We work hard to provide a vital service to the community by creating and controlling an environment for bacteria and microorganisms to thrive in order to treat our community’s wastewater and discharge clean water back to the river. Our Wastewater Operators use a mix of chemistry, biology, technical problem solving, and mechanical aptitude on a day to day basis to achieve that goal.
We currently have openings at our Vail and Edwards facilities. Here is some information about each location:
Vail: The Vail Wastewater Treatment Plant is a 2.7MGD, 7450 lbs./day BOD secondary treatment plant with no primary clarification. Our split secondary treatment system consists of aeration basins (used for BOD removal), secondary clarifiers and fixed film nitrification cells for converting ammonia to nitrates. Due to our service area being a resort community, our flows and loading vary seasonally. We are looking for a self-starter to join our close-knit team.
Edwards: Edwards Wastewater Treatment Plant is a 2.83MGD, 15,100lb/day BOD treatment plant. We treat all the solids in the ERWSD service line, receiving solid waste from both the Avon and Vail wastewater treatment plants using Autothermal Thermophilic Aerobic Digesters (ATAD). EWWTP also manages the Bio-containment Facility, the site where we dispose of our Biosolids. This involves operating dump trucks and a front end loader.
If you are a dedicated and hard working professional with a background in science or strong mechanical experience (or both!) looking for a stable and fulfilling new career in the high country, then starting a career in wastewater treatment might be right for you.
If you are a seasoned wastewater treatment operator, looking for an organization that values operations expertise and works to cultivate a low drama work environment then Eagle River Water & Sanitation District might be the right place for you too!
Why work for us? The work you will do as a Wastewater Operator will have an immediate positive environmental impact on our community. Not to mention our excellent benefits including medical, dental, & vision coverage, employee housing & stipend program, relocation assistance, retirement savings plans, and ample opportunities for professional development.
