  Seeking 120 Temp/FT positions in the following counties: Colorado: El Paso, Pueblo, Park, Elbert, Teller, Douglas, Custer, Huerfano, Cheyenne | Job Duties: Constructing a walking trail involves careful planning and design which begins by selecting a route that considers the surrounding terrain, environmental impact, and user experience. The next step is clearing the trail corridor of vegetation, rocks, and other obstructions by using hand tools like shovels, rakes, digging bars, hoes, and other assorted clearing tools. This process ensures a smooth and safe path for walkers. Trail grading is essential to create a stable surface, especially on sloped terrain. This involves leveling the path, installing switchbacks or steps on steep sections, and ensuring proper drainage to prevent erosion. The base layer ensures the trail can withstand foot traffic and weathering without significant degradation. Trail base placement of compacted soil, gravel, or crushed stone will provide a durable, even surface. Includes installation of seed or sod, grass, tree and plant maintenance as required. For high-use or sensitive areas, assisting other skilled workers in placement of more substantial materials such as asphalt, concrete, or boardwalks may be required. To prevent erosion, preparation and placement of features such as water bars, retaining walls, culverts, and drainage ditches. These elements help manage water runoff, ensuring the trail remains intact during heavy rain and over time. Stabilization techniques, like planting vegetation or using geotextiles, may also be applied to reinforce the trail's integrity.
