OhioMeansJobs|Cleveland-Cuyahoga County is sourcing for a Settlements Specialist for a trucking company in Cleveland, Ohio.

In this role and as part of our Settlements team, you will support an assigned group of truck drivers and
terminals as you perform accounts payable tasks related to their settlements (pay) to ensure they are
paid accurately and on time.
Our ideal candidate is comfortable working with numbers/percentages/rates in a deadline-driven
environment, has a knack for problem-solving/analyzing information, isn’t afraid to ask questions, and
can work closely with their team members to provide exceptional customer service.

We will provide all necessary training for you to be successful in this role.

Responsibilities of the Position
• Performing accounts payable/invoicing functions
• Corresponding with drivers, terminals, and internal staff about settlements, deductions,
reimbursements, billing discrepancies, and related transactions
• Collecting and organizing load paperwork, including Bills of Lading and delivery receipts
• Monitor, sort, and prioritize group email and phone correspondence to ensure issues and
questions are resolved in a timely and complete manner
• Investigating discrepancies to resolve any issues
• Data entry

Qualifications & Interpersonal Skills
• Transportation/trucking industry knowledge preferred but not required
• Ability to work with numbers and demonstrate exceptional attention to detail in doing so
• Aptitude for learning and navigating a variety of computer programs, apps, and websites to
process physical and electronic paperwork
• Proficient use of Microsoft Office – Outlook, Excel, and Word
• Strong communication and follow-up skills – the ability to recognize and appropriately respond
to tone in phone and email correspondence, as well as a willingness to make clarifying phone
calls when email won’t suffice
• Ability to interact with a variety of people, including truck drivers, terminals, brokers, coworkers, and internal departments
• Proactive in managing deadlines and daily responsibilities
• Interest in learning about our industry, as well as our business and other internal departments,
so you can apply that knowledge to further excel in your day-to-day role
• Positive, team-oriented attitude

• Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM with a 1-hour lunch, based in our Corporate
Office in Valley View, Ohio

Physical Demands of the Position
Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office
equipment and keyboards. Must have the ability to stand, walk, and sit; talk and hear, both in person
and by telephone; and reach with hands and arms to lift and carry items up to 25 pounds.
