Tax Analyst

Role Summary:
As a Tax Analyst you will participate in the development and testing of our tax import products using in-house development tools. In this role, you will analyze data files and tax software changes to make corresponding import products. It will require working closely with other internal teams including tax accountants, programmers, and clients. You will be responsible for updating internal databases with tax changes, deploying new files to various network locations and testing the changes by using the tax software. As a Tax Analyst, you will work with multiple tax entity types and with several different products and file types including CSV, XML, JSON and Excel spreadsheets.

About the Role
In this opportunity as Tax Analyst, you will:
Communicate with other internal teams to stay abreast of tax law changes per jurisdiction
Constant monitoring of IRS and state taxing agency tax law changes by review of Checkpoint and other sources to stay current on impending tax law changes
Analyze tax forms and related laws to ensure our software is kept current
Design the client interface, such as input/output screens, in our tax product
Write and/or communicate design and system flow specifications for software engineers
Test software products
Analyze date and test imported data
Respond timelyto client questions and issues
About You
You're a fit for the role of Tax Analyst if your background includes:
Desired Experience
Up to two years of tax preparation experience
Experience with electronic filing of tax returns a plus
State, city, and local income tax preparation a plus
Experience with CSV, XML or JSON file formats
Experience with e-file and reading the XML file
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent experience
Up to 2 years of recent tax preparation experience or experience providing technical support to end users of tax software
Experience using a tax software package
Strong communication and computer skills
