We are looking for a detail-oriented Prevailing Wage specialist to join our clients team in Covina, California. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring compliance with prevailing wage laws and accurate payroll processing for our projects. This position requires a strong understanding of prevailing wage / certified payroll and compliance regulations within the environmental waste management industry.
Responsibilities:
• Interpret and apply prevailing wage laws, including federal Davis-Bacon regulations and California Public Works requirements.
• Oversee the preparation and submission of Certified Payroll Reports (CPRs) to ensure compliance with applicable laws.
• Collaborate with project managers and HR to confirm accurate job classifications and wage determinations for projects.
• Serve as a subject matter expert by advising management on prevailing wage compliance and risk mitigation strategies.
• Train field supervisors and subcontractors on reporting procedures and prevailing wage regulations.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation for compliance verification, including apprenticeship ratios and fringe benefit records.
• Monitor and ensure adherence to labor compliance requirements, including labor compliance programs (LCPs) and related reporting systems.
• Represent the company during audits or inquiries conducted by regulatory agencies or third parties.
• Review prevailing wage contracts during the estimating process to identify performance and bond requirements.
• Work with payroll systems such as ADP Workforce Now, Dayforce, and others to manage payroll-related tasks efficiently.
• Proven experience with payroll systems such as ADP Workforce Now, Dayforce, or similar platforms.
• Strong knowledge of prevailing wage laws, including the Davis-Bacon Act and California Labor Code.
• Familiarity with Certified Payroll Report (CPR) preparation and submission processes.
• Ability to interpret and manage compliance documentation, including apprenticeship ratios and fringe benefits.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail to maintain accurate records and meet deadlines.
• Experience with labor compliance programs (LCPs) and reporting portals such as LCPtracker.
• Strong communication skills to train staff and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Previous experience in the waste management or related industry is a plus.
